Hotspotr App - case study

I started this project as part of a UX/UI contest run by Adobe. It is an abandoned project I still like a lot.

Insight: Hardly any city guides offer a truly individual travel experience tailored to the user. Tourists tend to stick with tourists, and it's rare for travelers to see the city through the eyes of the locals.

Idee: I'm developing an app that adapts to the user's needs and preferences, enabling personalized city trips. Insider tips and assistance come from locals who, based on the user's interests, recommend hotspots. If desired, users can contact these selected locals through chat, or in a "Blind Mode," locals can curate a route, promising the user a surprising variety of experiences – provided they're up for a little adventure and trust. The app's look and feel are minimalistic, and the content is just enough to pique the user's curiosity, enticing them to explore the city and its unique charm and quirks on their own.

Dieses Projekt habe ich im Rahmen eines von Adobe ausgeschriebenen UX/UI Contest konzipiert. Aktuell arbeite ich das Konzept weiter aus, weil ich den Ansatz nach wie vor stark finde.

Insight: Kaum ein Cityguide bietet ein echtes individuelles Reiseerlebnis, welches optimal auf den Nutzer abgestimmt ist. Touristen bleiben unter Touristen und in den seltensten Fällen ist es für den Reisenden möglich, die Stadt mit den Augen der dort Lebenden zu sehen.

Idee: Ich entwickle eine App, die sich auf die Bedürfnisse und Vorlieben des Nutzers einstellt und so ein personalisierte, individuelle Städtetrips ermöglicht. Insider-Infos und Hilfe gibt es dabei von Locals, die basierend auf der Interessen-Filterung des Nutzers entsprechende Hotspots empfehlen. Optional können die ausgewählten Locals mittels Chat kontaktiert oder in einem sogenannten „Blind Mode“ eine Route zusammenstellen, die dem Nutzer ein überraschendes und abwechslungsreiches Angebot bescheren. Abenteuerlust und Vertrauen vorausgesetzt.
